The beloved Walk the Talk event returns in 2026, reimagined for the first time as the 702 Jozi My Jozi Walk the Talk – proudly reinstated as an iconic heritage occasion firmly rooted in the City of Johannesburg. Presented by Radio 702 in partnership with Jozi My Jozi and the City of Johannesburg, this cherished event invites Gauteng’s diverse community to unite and reclaim the city streets, celebrating Johannesburg’s rich history, vibrant culture, and ongoing urban renewal.

We're Back in the City of Jo'burg

Set for Sunday, 26 July 2026, 702 Jozi My Jozi Walk the Talk unfolds amidst Johannesburg’s magnificent architectural landmarks and cultural precincts. Beginning and ending at the historic Ellis Park, participants may select from three meticulously designed routes:

• 5km Victoria Yards circuit immerses walkers in creative hubs and vibrant neighbourhoods,
• 8km Main Street route explores Maboneng’s dynamic energy and the city’s storied institutions,
• 15km Nelson Mandela Bridge route ventures through Newtown’s arts precinct and lively Braamfontein.

All routes are wheelchair and pram friendly, ensuring accessibility for walkers of all abilities.

This event transcends a simple walk – it is a powerful celebration of community spirit, health, family bonding and meaningful social impact. Activation zones and refreshment points along the way keep participants engaged and energised as they experience Johannesburg’s renaissance firsthand.

Aligned with a deep commitment to social upliftment, 702 Jozi My Jozi Walk the Talk proudly partners with homelessness organisations MES and U-Turn to offer participants the opportunity to purchase Mi-change blockchain vouchers. These vouchers enable dignified and responsible giving by providing the homeless with access to meals, hygiene facilities, clothing, and shelter – shifting support from temporary relief to sustainable transformation.

Supported by the City of Johannesburg and Jozi My Jozi’s inspiring urban regeneration projects, this event stands as a tribute to Johannesburg’s enduring resilience and ongoing renewal. Every step taken celebrates the city’s heritage, strengthens community bonds, and contributes to the collective vision of a thriving, united Johannesburg.
